Abstract: 

Axiomatic Design is one of the Design approaches. This approach is established on two axioms: Independence and information axioms. In this approach Design Matrix is a key concept. It is categorized to three types Matrix with name uncoupled, decoupled and coupled Design Matrix. The uncoupled Design Matrix satisfies independence axiom. In this paper a new problem is presented in axiomatic Design that is named Design Matrix Reconstruction. The recostructability of Design relation Matrix is investigated in this paper. Design relation Matrix is used for presenting the relation between functional requirements and Design parameters. For Design relation Matrix reconstruction, existence of some projections from unknown Design Matrix is supposed and on this basis some proofs are presented. These proofs show Design relation Matrix is reconstructible when the projections are consistence together. The Design Matrix reconstruction is applicable for reverse engineering, Design evaluation and Design improvement.

Abstract: 

A new algorithm for reconstruction of Design relation Matrix(DRM) is presented. The reconstruction of an unknown DRM is discussed based on some Design Matrix projections, which was expressed by Design experts. The reconstruction algorithm has been formed based on the new concept of DRM. It shows the relation between functional requirements and Design parameters that exists in the related Design Matrix. The specifications of uncoupled, decoupled and coupled Design matrices are scrutinizable by the DRM and related concepts such as Design set (DS), Design row set (DRS) and Design column set (DCS). Then, the DRM reconstruction algorithm and algorithm for selecting the unbiased reconstruction from reconstruction family members are presented based on reconstruct ability analysis. The DRM reconstruction algorithm is applicable in reverse engineering, Design evaluation and improvement.

Abstract: 

SILICA-CHITOSAN HYBRID FILMS WERE MADE OF TETRAETHYLORTHOSILICATE (TEOS) AS A PRECURSOR AND CHITOSAN, USING SOL-GEL METHOD. THE FILMS WERE CHARACTERIZED BY WATER CONTACT ANGLE (WCA) MEASUREMENTS, BRUNAUER EMMETT TELLER (BET), SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE (SEM) FOR WETTABILITY, SURFACE, CROSS SECTION MORPHOLOGY AND SPECIFIC SURFACE AREA, RESPECTIVELY. ALSO, IT IS CONFIRMED THAT HYDROGEN BONDS EMERGE BETWEEN CHITOSAN AND SIO2 IN HYBRID MATERIALS BY FOURIER TRANSFORM INFRARED (FT-IR) ANALYSIS.

Abstract: 

Gears are one of the most critical components in power transmission system of an automobile and also many rotating machinery. Many studies have been conducted on optimum gear Design. The main objective is to Design different aluminium metal Matrix composite spur gears before and after optimization. Aluminium metal Matrix material composites are preferred mostly due to their low density. Also the high specific mechanical properties make these alloys one of the most interesting material alternatives for the manufacture of lightweight parts for many types of vehicles. With wear resistance and strength equal to cast iron, 67% lower density and three times thermal conductivity, aluminium MMC alloys are ideal materials for the manufacture of lightweight automotive and other commercial parts. In the present work materials considered are Al 6061-T6, Al 6106-T6, Al 7075-T651, and Al 7050-T7451. Finite Element Analysis is performed on different spur gears using above materials and the results will be compared.

QFD is a powerful tool to translate Voice of Customer to technical specifications and hence can help organizations in a systematic way to determine necessities for Design criteria to achieve customer satisfaction. The importance of Design needs is determined with help of first Matrix of QFD. Since in QFD process most information is in the form of attributes and it is difficult to quantify it accurately, in this paper fuzzy sets are used to quantify the attributes and in addition fuzzy outranking is used to rank Design needs.

Abstract: 

This study investigates improving the process of Design and interaction analysis of Gama-ray imaging systems. Gama-ray imaging systems have many applications in medical sciences, military and security or-ganizations and for each application area, different parameters have gained attention in the product Design process. The complexity of the product Design process and variety of Design parameters confirm the need for development of a comprehensive map for product Design which demonstrates subsystem interactions and the way that each parameters effects other parameters. Hence the Design Structure Matrix (DSM) is used to display and analyze the interaction of Design influencing parameters. DSM offers network modeling tools that represent the elements of a system and their interactions, thereby highlighting the system's Designed structure. Its advantages include compact format, visual nature, intuitive representation, powerful analytical capacity, and flexibility. In this research we have proposed a DSM which consists of 49 parameters for the mentioned product and then this Matrix has been analyzed and clustered by using the related software. As a result, the parameters have been divided into five Design cycles after prioritization. The system Designer can identify the parameters' effect and trace the systematic Design process by using this Matrix.

Abstract: 

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is one of the most successful techniques of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and is mostly in use for the treatment of infertility with male factors. In this method, before injecting sperm into the intracytoplasmic of the oocyte, cumulus cells around the oocyte must be stripped to facilitate the injection process. To achieve this, both enzymatic and mechanical methods are used in embryological laboratories for denudation, which has major deficiencies, including the possibility of damaging the oocyte prior to the injection process. In this research, a microfluidic-based device is introduced for the separation of cumulus cells around the oocyte with minimum manual operations. The results prove high efficiency, and non-destructive denudation of the oocyte with the reduced amount of culture medium leads to the low-cost preparation process of oocytes. The process can also be integrated with ICSI chips under development and will be reported shortly.

Abstract: 

A seamless graphene inverter including graphene nanoribbon field effect transistor (GNRFET) and graphene interconnect is proposed. The seamless structure is suggested to eliminate the ohmic, schottky, and parasitic resistances in the junction of the traditional interconnects with the Gate, Source and Drain of GNRFET. After that, using the circuit models of the graphene devices that are used in the proposed structure, transfer Matrix model of the proposed seamless graphene inverter is calculated and extracted. All of the capacitive, inductive and scattering effects are included in the assumed circuit models of the GNRFET-graphene interconnect and consequently in the overall Matrix model of the seamless graphene inverter. Elimination of the ohmic, schottky and parasitic resistances causes to improve in the working speed of the proposed inverter. Extraction of the transfer Matrix model of the seamless graphene inverter and calculation of its step time response, relative stability and frequency bandwidth confirms this improvement. The advantage of the transfer Matrix model of the proposed inverter is that any change in the physical parameters of the graphene nanoribbons that are used in the structure can be included in the model and one can analyze the effect of it in all of the technology nodes. Using the circuit model and the extracted transfer Matrix, anyone can evaluates various stability analyses such as Nyquist, Bode and Nichols together with the time-frequency responses of the graphene seamless inverter used in very large scale integrated (VLSI) circuits.
